EMILIO ZAMORA, D.V.M.

DR. ELMAR U. ZAMORA

Dr. Elmar obtained her master's degree in Veterinary Biomedical Sciences from Oklahoma State University as a Fulbright scholar. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines Los Banos, finishing in the Top 1% of her graduating class.

Before coming to the US, she taught as an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Mindanao in her hometown in Davao City, Philippines. She taught different undergraduate courses for the Biology degree program like anatomy, physiology, parasitology, histology, microbiology, biology, zoology, and cell biology.

She also taught as an Adjunct Faculty for the Veterinary Technician Program at the Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa, California.

She successfully earned her Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) Certificate in 2010 (https://www.avma.org/education/ecfvg/steps-ecfvg-certification-program). The Certification Program is a grueling 4-step process that all foreign veterinary candidates are required to pass before allowed to sit for the national and veterinary state boards and granted licensure in the U.S. It consists of 1) Registration and Proof of Graduation 2) Assessment of English Language Ability 3) Basic and Clinical Sciences Examination, and 4) Clinical Skills Assessment – a 3-day, 7-section, hands-on practical clinical skills examination.

In October 2010, she successfully passed the California Veterinary State Board Examination and became a licensed veterinarian.

Dr. Elmar took over the practice of her father-in-law, Dr. Emilio, after working at the A.E.Z.R. PET HOSPITAL for 10 years in various roles.

She lives with her husband Rex (whom she met in vet school), their 2 adorable and talented boys, Elbi and Recklan, and their cats - Aeri, Biscuit, and Patootee.

Introducing Moira, the warm and professional voice behind the scenes at A.E.Z.R. Pet Hospital. Based in the heart of the Philippines, Moira has been a cherished member of the team since 2021, taking on the roles of a dedicated virtual assistant and receptionist.

Moira's passion for pets is as boundless as her enthusiasm for her work. When she's not tending to the needs of our valued clients and their furry companions, you'll find her at home, surrounded by loveable pets of her own. Her trio of dogs—Kira, Isla, and Piper—have not only captured her heart but also inspired her commitment to ensuring that every pet that walks through our doors is treated with the same love and devotion.

Beyond her love for animals and her professional responsibilities, Moira has a creative side that shines brightly. Singing and crafting song covers are among her favorite hobbies, adding a harmonious touch to her already vibrant personality.
